Terms of Use and Important Notes

Terms of Use

From 15 September 2026, the new terms of use apply.

This product contains both assets (3D models, textures, Unity packages and so on) and an application (VR169 Companion). Separate terms apply to each.

Until 14 September 2026, the terms below apply to the product as a whole.

The Japanese version is the official text. Versions in other languages are reference translations.

The Avatar Asset Terms of Use and the earlier terms use the VN3 License template created by Hiroko Ashiyama (@hiroko_TB), VN3 License.

Important notes

1. General

  • The contents, specifications, price and manual of this product may change for improvement or updating.
  • If the Terms of Use are changed, the new text and the date it takes effect will be announced in advance.
  • This is a digital download, so returns, refunds and exchanges for reasons of your own are not available. Returns and refunds are handled as set out in the Terms of Use.
  • Where several languages are given, the Japanese version takes precedence.
  • Please read the Terms of Use and this manual before purchase, and buy only if you agree to them.
  • By purchasing this product, you are deemed to have agreed to the Terms of Use and this manual.
  • Damage arising from installing or using this product — a broken Unity project, avatar malfunction, data loss and the like — is handled as set out in the Terms of Use.
  • You may modify the assets in this product, but you do so at your own risk as regards how they then behave. Modifying or analysing the application (VR169 Companion) is not permitted under the Terms of Use.
  • Conflicts with other assets may stop it working correctly. Changes to VRChat or to VirtualLens2 may also change or stop its behaviour in future.
  • This product has no connection whatsoever with VRChat or with the developer of VirtualLens2.

2. Using this product

  • This product is a 3D model with gimmicks, for VRChat avatars. It is a custom model that lets you operate VirtualLens2, and it has no photographic function of its own. What it does depends on the specifications and limits of VirtualLens2.
  • This product is designed to be operated in VR mode, using VR equipment.
  • To use this product with full-body tracking, you must set the tracking and IK / spine mode to "Head lock" or "Spine lock".
  • This product supports Humanoid Avatars 3.0 avatars only. Non-Humanoid avatars are not supported.
  • We cannot guarantee that it works on every avatar. It may not work correctly on avatars whose arms or legs are unusually short or unusually long.
  • By the nature of OSC communication, packet loss can occur depending on your network. The bundled application does not guarantee perfectly reliable synchronisation with VRChat.
  • While operating in VR equipment you may strike nearby objects, furniture or other people. Make sure you have enough space around you and remove anything your body could touch. Damage is handled as set out in the Terms of Use.

3. About this manual

  • Please also watch the videos, so that you understand the contents of this manual more precisely.
  • The images shown were taken in a development environment, with the product still under development. Materials may be unfinished, and small details of the wording or layout may differ from the released product. Some images also use tools that are not part of a standard Unity installation.

4. Before installing

  • Always back up your Unity project before you start.
  • Installation requires basic knowledge of how to operate Unity.
  • Installing by any method other than the steps in this manual may stop it working correctly.
  • Some avatars need more adjustment than this manual describes.

Problem reports and enquiries

  • Accepted through the BOOTH message function.
  • When reporting a problem, please include the versions of the required assets, the avatar you are using, the tools in your project, and the gimmicks on your avatar.
  • We cannot answer questions about how to use or modify tools and applications, or about compatibility and combination with other assets and tools.
  • We cannot promise to fix everything. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Environments other than the tested environment, environment-dependent problems, mistakes in the installation steps, misconfiguration, version mismatches, and conflicts with other assets are outside support.
  • We cannot answer enquiries or problem reports about the features and behaviour of VirtualLens2 itself or of VRChat itself.
